Self Closing Hinges

Spring hinges or spring-loaded hinges, self-closing hinges, and door closing hinges, are hinges fitted with a spring, automatically closing the door from an opened position. This range of hinges are also known as saloon door hinges, double hinges, a 2-way hinge or a double action spring hinge.

They are generally cheaper and quicker than fitting a door-closer. Although not giving the same level of motion control as a door closer, spring-loaded hinges are a popular and simple way to ensure a door is left closed.
