Rim Locks

A range of rim locks at Quest Hardware

Our comprehensive collection of rim locks features a wide selection of traditional, surface-mounted locking solutions that combine authentic style with everyday practicality.

Our options include:

• Rim locks – Traditional surface-mounted locks operated by a key and knob, perfect for internal doors that require basic security.
• Rim deadlocks – Provide increased security with a solid locking deadbolt, often used on external or secondary doors.
• Rim latches – A practical option best suited to internal doors where locking isn’t always required, featuring a simple snib for privacy.
• Rim cylinders and keys – Replacement and additional cylinders to suit rim locks, allowing you to maintain or upgrade existing door hardware.

When to use a rim lock

Being fitted to the surface of the door rather than embedded in, they’re the ideal option for period homes, heritage renovation projects, and classic interior schemes where a decorative, exposed lock adds character.

Whether you’re specifying hardware for internal room doors, exterior entrances, or bespoke joinery applications, our selection offers versatile options in a variety of designs, finishes, and functions to suit your project requirements.

Rim locks are a particularly effective option for bedrooms, bathrooms, and utility doors, and can be paired with matching knobs, latches, or deadlocks for a beautifully coordinated look.
